Customer Context
Operating Environment
Operating a high-utilisation surface drilling fleet in demanding hard-rock mining conditions, where rotary head reliability is critical to maximising rig availability, maintaining production, and reducing unplanned maintenance.
Core Issue
Recurring premature rotary head failures were reducing rig availability, increasing maintenance requirements, and preventing planned service intervals from being achieved.

Solution
MASPRO Intervention
Working closely with the customer’s reliability engineers, MASPRO investigated recurring failure points and developed a RE-ENGINEERED DHR6-B ROTARY HEAD DESIGNED TO IMPROVE RELIABILITY under demanding hard-rock drilling conditions.
The upgraded unit was installed as a direct replacement with no rig modifications required.

Results
Increased Reliability and Measurable Performance Gains
- 286% INCREASE in average rotary head service life
- Average SERVICE LIFE INCREASED from 2,511 hours for the OEM units to 9,680 hours for the MASPRO units
- OVER $1.5 MILLION annual operational value
- Reduced maintenance interventions and unplanned downtime
- Improved rig availability and production continuity
The MASPRO Advantage
MASPRO engineers reliability beyond original specifications: working with customers to solve recurring operational challenges through purpose-built engineering solutions that improve uptime and lifecycle performance.
